Am I missing something?

Ok so I went into McD's yesterday to pick up food for the family. I had my whole list of items that I had been asked to order. I read down the list and all went well.
Then I got to the last item on my list...

Me: I'd also like the Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad.

McD Employee/Cashier/Order Taker: ok, what dressing would you like?

There was a pause as this rattled around in my skull ... thinking to myself ...
Isn't it a Chicken Bacon RANCH Salad? You didn't have to ask if I wanted chicken in it... or bacon for that matter... if you are giving me a choice of the dressing why don't I get choices for the other things? Ok I give up...

Me: Ranch please.

After all if i'd wanted the Turkey Porkchop Thousand Island Salad I'd have ordered it right?
